Privacy Policy

The short version: speech recognition, translation, and the voice you hear all run on your iPhone. The app has no server that receives your audio or your conversations, and there is no account.

1. No account, no personal profile

Live Translation on Headphones does not ask you to sign up, log in, or provide your name, email address, or any other identifying information.

2. Your conversations stay on your device

The app uses Apple's on-device Speech and Translation frameworks and the on-device speech synthesizer built into iOS. This means:

Microphone audio is processed on the iPhone and is never uploaded to us or to any third party by the app.
Transcripts and translations are shown on screen for the current session only. They are not saved to a server and are not stored by us.
Language packs are downloaded by iOS from Apple when you first use a language pair. Apple may collect anonymous usage metrics for these system frameworks under Apple's Privacy Policy; those metrics do not include the content of your speech or translations.

Your language preferences and settings are stored locally on your device.

3. No selling, no advertising, no data brokers

We do not sell your data, we do not show advertising, and we do not share information with data brokers or marketers.

4. Services the app uses

To operate reliably, the app relies on three industry-standard services. None of them receive your audio, transcripts, or translations.

Apple App Store (StoreKit) — processes subscription payments under Apple's terms. We never see your payment details.
RevenueCat — verifies that your subscription is active, including after a reinstall. It receives a randomly generated anonymous identifier and your purchase status.
Firebase (Google) — receives anonymous crash reports, anonymous usage events such as "screen_display" and "click_happen", and provides remote configuration values to the app. These events contain no names, email addresses, audio, or conversation content.

5. Permissions

The app asks for microphone access so it can hear the person you want to understand. On iOS versions before iOS 26 it also asks for speech-recognition permission so iOS can transcribe speech on the device. You can change either permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.

6. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

7. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you on our servers, there is nothing for you to request, download, or delete from Little Tough LLC. Deleting the app removes all local data from your device. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

8. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the Effective Date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app before they take effect.
